Blast Cleaning

  • Sandblasting:

    • Sandblasting is the operation of forcibly propelling a stream of sand against a surface under high pressure that is used to smooth a rough surface, roughen a smooth surface, shape a surface, or remove surface contaminants.

  • Glass Bead:

    • Bead blasting is the process of removing surface deposits by applying fine glass beads at a high pressure without damaging the surface.

  • Steel Shot & Grit:

    • Shot blasting is the method used to clean, strengthen or polish metal by using steel.

  • Copper slag:

    • Copper slag blasting is an abrasive grit prepared by selective screening to give a series of clean, sharp abrasive surface.

  • Nickel:

    • Nickel blasting is made from a by-product if nickel production.  It is an ideal abrasive for general-purpose use, including shipyards, bridges and other general industrial blast cleaning.

  • Starblast:

    • Starblast blasting is the use of a loose blend of coarse and fine staurolite sands that are uniformly sized and have clean, rounded surfaces.

  • Environmentally Accepted:

    • Green diamond:

      • Green diamond blasting is formed from molten lateritic ore when quenched by granulation.  This process produces an amorphous non-crystalline form of hard durable glass.

    • Kleen:

      • Kleen Blast abrasive is suitable for most grit blasting operations on metal surfaces.  The angular shape of individual particles make this product ideal for the efficient removal of mill scale, rust or existing coatings from steel and other metals in preparation for painting.

    • Aluminum Oxide:

      • Aluminum oxide is the most widely used abrasive in blast finishing and surface preparation because of its cost and recyclability.  It is extremely hard, sharp and profiles even the hardest metals.

    • Soda:

      • Soda blasting is a process in which sodium bicarbonate is applied against a surface using compressed air.

    • Corn husk:

      • It is a ideal technique to maintain and preserve the surface of an object.

    • Enviro-Grit:

      • Enviro-Grit abrasive is 100% Crystalline Silica-free.  It provides superior cutting power for removing rust and most coatings.  Enviro-grit is a leader in safety and health issues surrounding sandblasting.

    • Black Magic:

      • Black Magic is an abrasive prepared by selective screening of coal.  It is “the tough stuff” that conforms to environmental standards.

    • Plastic bead:

      • Plastic bead blasting is a recycled material made of finely reground thermoplastics to give you a great surface finish.
